Overview

EDC Academy is the Enterprise Development Centre's digital hub for practical, market-ready learning. Entrepreneurs, professionals and growth-minded teams take expert-led business courses (Marketing Management, Strategic Planning, Basic Accounting, Financial and Operations Management, Human Resource Management and more, including courses in Hausa) at their own pace, on any device. Courses are built from bite-size video modules, assessments and case studies, and end with a verifiable certificate. Learning pairs, community discussions and gamification keep learners going, and organisations can run private cohorts with dashboards that track progress and impact.

Challenge

The EDC's in-person programmes have long helped Nigerian entrepreneurs grow, but classroom training can only reach so many people. Busy business owners needed affordable, practical courses they could fit around running a business, on the phone in their pocket, with something to show for it at the end.

Solution

We built EDC Academy: a mobile-first learning platform with a course catalogue and checkout, self-paced and instructor-led learning paths, video modules, assessments and verifiable certificates; social learning through learning pairs and community discussions; gamification with points, badges and challenges to drive completion; and enterprise features for private cohorts, custom tracks and progress dashboards.
